Propofol Lingual Spray for Pre-procedural Sedation
Manhattan Pharmaceuticals is developing a convenient, non-invasive proprietary lingual spray formulation of propofol, the active ingredient in the world’s top selling general anesthetic. This product, Propofol Lingual Spray, has potential applications as a sedative/hypnotic prior to certain diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Propofol Lingual Spray has completed Phase 1 clinical trials in which it achieved measurable blood levels in less than five minutes. Additional findings demonstrated the product to be well tolerated, without causing nausea.
Manhattan Pharmaceuticals is actively seeking to out-license this product as it does not fall within the company’s therapeutic areas of focus.
